Alexander Ursenbacher

Alexander Ursenbacher (born 26 April 1996) is a Swiss snooker player.

Career

Ursenbacher playing snooker since 2008 and has already celebrating early national success. So he was already a year later U19 Swiss champion. In his first title in the category Mens he had to wait a little longer. After several stays in England, among others, to the Snooker Academies in Sheffield and Gloucester, as well as individual sessions with a snooker professional Ian McCulloch he won in the 2011/12 season his first title in the category of gentlemen. He has since dominated the Swiss snooker scene. Ursenbacher defended his title at the Swiss Championship 2013.

Since autumn 2012, after compulsory schooling, he fully focuses on the snooker sport.

In the Q School in 2013 he qualified for the main tour of the professionals. While he suffered an early defeat in the first tournament, he was able to dominate in the second tournament ( he only lost a single frame against Reanne Evans in the semi-finals and played in the first frame of the third knockout round, a break of 140 points against Adam Wicheard ) and thus received a two-year ticket for the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 season. He is only the second Swiss, who made ​​the jump to the main tour. It is also notable that this succeeded at the first participating in the Q School.
