Alexandr Fier

Alexandr Hilário Takeda dos Santos Fier Sakai ( the World Chess Federation FIDE Alexandr Fier; born March 11, 1988 in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil) is a Brazilian chess player.

The chess games he learned from his father in kindergarten. Since he was six years old, he took part in chess tournaments.

Achievements

Youth

As a six- year-old he won the U10 championship of the southern Brazilian state of Paraná and a month later the Brazilian U10 Championship in Laguna in February 1995. He was subsequently nominated for the Pan-American U10 Championship, which was held in April 1995 in Blumenau as well as the U10 World Cup in October 1995 in São Lourenço. Although he could at the two international championships against the four -year-older boys did not prevail, but won in May of the following year the Pan-American U10 Championship, which took place in Laguna. The following month, he was Pan-American in Bento Gonçalves U12 Champion. The Brazilian U16 Championship he won in May 2001 in Volta Redonda. In May 2002, he won both the Brazilian U14 Championship in Blumenau and in the Pan American U14 Championship in Villa Giardino, Argentina. The Brazilian U18 Championship he won in May 2005 in Curitiba, the Pan-American U18 Championship with 1.5 points ahead of the Americans Robert Hungaski in June 2005 in Balneario Camboriu. The South American U20 Championship he won in February 2006 in San Luis, Argentina, the Brazilian Junior Championships U20 in June 2006 in Taubaté. The South American U20 Championship he won again in February 2008 in Montevideo, the Brazilian Junior Championship U20 a weiteresmal in June 2008 in Guarapari. In December 2005 he won in Guarulhos before Gilberto Milos, the 72th individual championship in Brazil. In June 2009, he won the tournament zone of Rio de Janeiro against Rafael Leitão with 7.5 points from 9 games and one point ahead, and the first Olympics of Mercosur in Mar del Plata with 6 points from 6 games. In June 2012, he won 8 out of 9 the Open in Teplice.

For the Brazilian national team, he played in the Chess Olympiads of 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2012 with a total score of 23.5 out of 40 ( 19, = 9, -12 ). Chess club he plays for Clube Erbo Stenzel from Curitiba and in Spain for the SCC Sabadell. In the German Chess League since the 2013/2014 season he played for Sportfreunde Katernberg.

At the age of 16, he received the title of International Master. Grand Master he is since January 2007. Standards for this he achieved by winning the South American U20 Championship in February 2006, the tournament X. highway de la República Argentina in August 2006 in Villa Martelli by over-fulfillment as well as at the anniversary tournament for the 65th anniversary of the Chess Federation of São Paulo in October 2006. Upon receipt of the GM title, he was the youngest Brazilian in history to have managed this. His Elo rating is 2595 (as of March 2014) so that it is behind Rafael Leitão on the second place of the Brazilian Elo ranking. His previous highest Elo rating was 2653 in November 2009.
