Alexandre Volchkov

Alexander Alexandrovich Woltschkow (Russian Александр Александрович Волчков; born September 25, 1977 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player. His father Alexander Sergeyevich Woltschkow was also hockey players.

Career

Woltschkow began his career in his hometown at HK CSKA Moscow, for whom he made ​​his debut in the International Hockey League in the 1994/95 season. For next season, the Russian moved to North America in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League and went for the Barrie Colts on the ice. After a good rookie season in which he was elected following the All- Rookie team in the league, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 in the first round in fourth position of the Washington Capitals. The objectives set up to expectations as a relatively early stage of selected player he never met, even though the Russian was considered a talented junior player. The attacker completed yet another season in the OHL for the Barrie Colts, where he increased his points total and was subsequently nominated to the Second All-Star Team of the OHL. For the 2010/11 season he moved within the league to HK Ertis Pavlodar, for which he completed five games before he ended his career.

Internationally

Woltschkow represented the Russian national team at the World Youth Championship in 1997 and won the bronze medal with the selection. During the tournament, he came to six inserts and contributed two assists for.
