Alexandros Papadimitriou

Aléxandros Papadimitriou (Greek Αλέξανδρος Παπαδημητρίου, born 18 June 1973) is a Greek hammer thrower.

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and at the World Athletics Championships in 1997 in Athens and 1999 in Seville he left in qualifying. In 2000 he was twelfth at the Olympic Games in Sydney.

The following year, he failed at the World Championships in Edmonton again in the first round and then won at the Mediterranean Games bronze. Also he won bronze at the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002, and at the 2003 World Championships in Paris -Saint- Denis, he was eighth.

At the 2004 Olympics in Athens and 2008 in Beijing, the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki, 2007 in Osaka and 2009 in Berlin as well as the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 he did not make it past the qualification.

Overall, he was eleven times national champion (1994-1997, 2000, 2002-2006, 2008).

His personal best of 80.45 meters, achieved on July 9, 2000 in Athens, is the current Greek record.
