Alexandrov Ensemble

The Alexandrov Ensemble (actually: .. Dual with the Red Banner Order of excellent Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army, AW Alexandrov - Russian Дважды краснознаменный академический ансамбль песни и пляски Российской армии имени А В Александрова ), is a military choir from Russia, the (now official National Anthem of Russia) founded on October 12, 1928 in Moscow by Alexander Alexandrov, the later composers of the National Anthem of the Soviet Union.

The choir consisted initially of 12 soldiers ( eight singers, two dancers and each one bayan (accordion) player and reciter ). In 1937 the ensemble at the Paris World Exhibition, the "Grand Prix".

Unforgettable is the appearance on 18 August 1948 at Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt, with the Alexandrov Ensemble was the enthusiastic audience in Germany.

From 1946 to 1987, the ensemble of Alexander Alexandrov's son, Major-General Boris Alexandrov was headed.

Currently part of the ensemble, a men's choir, orchestra, and a dance group. The repertoire ranges from Russian folk songs about hymns, operatic arias to contemporary pieces.

Even after the end of the Soviet Union the ensemble continues to occur and delighted in domestic and foreign audience.
