Alexandru Neagu

Alexandru Neagu ( born July 19, 1948 in Bucharest, † April 17, 2010 ) was a Romanian football player. The striker took part for the Romanian national team at the World Cup 1970.

Career

Neagu played in his career exclusively for Rapid Bucharest. For the club from his native city, he made ​​his debut in 1965 before it two years later the club won the second Romanian league title in club history. According to the vice championship in 1969 he moved into the circle of the national team, in which he debuted in February 1970 in a 1-1 draw with Peru. On his second international match, a 1-1 draw against West Germany, he scored his first international goal. As a result, he was one of the summer in the squad for the World Cup finals in Mexico and three in tournament operations scored a goal. Until 1972 he lived in the country selection for which he competed alongside 15 officially recognized A- international matches two games as part of the qualification for the Olympic Games in 1972. In the same year he earned by winning the national cup his second national title, the 1975 re- Cup victory followed. In 1978, he finished his career at Rapid Bucharest after he had scored 93 goals for the club in 254 first division matches.
