Alexei Smirnov (ice hockey)

Alexei Sergeyevich Smirnov (Russian: Алексей Сергеевич Смирнов; born January 28, 1982 in Kaliningrad, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian professional ice hockey player for the Toros Neftekamsk plays in the Russian Wysschaja Hockey League since 2010.

Career

Smirnov played during his junior time in the junior system of the HK Dynamo Moscow. There he first played for Vityaz Chekhov in the Super League and Krylia Sovetov Moscow in the Wysschaja league, but came in the sum has only 17 appearances for both clubs. At season's end, he moved again and joined the team at Chimik Woskressensk with which he was able to celebrate the championship of the Wysschaja league.

Due to the withdrawal of Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg from the Kontinental Hockey League newly founded Chimik took the vacated starting place in the fall of 2008, a short-term.
