Alexey Vasilyev (racing driver)

Alexei Igorewitsch Vasilyev (Russian: Алексей Игоревич Васильев; born January 13, 1972 in Moscow ) is a Russian racing driver.

Career

Vasiliev began his racing career in the 1990s in Russia. In 1996 and 1997 he won Appreciation of the Russian Touring Car Championship race on the model of the Lada Samara. Internationally, he made ​​his first appearance in 2003, when he played on a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the entire season of the FIA ​​GT Championship in the GT2 class. In 2004 he made ​​his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team, Vasilyev drove his compatriot Nikolai Fomenko and the Briton Robert Nearn in a team, retired prematurely by accident. By 2008, the Russian was five times the endurance race at the Sarthe circuit at the start. His best result was the 14th place overall in 2007.
