Alexey Venetsianov

Alexei Gawrilowitsch Wenezianow (Russian Алексей Гаврилович Венецианов, scientific transliteration Alexei Gavrilovic Venecianov; . * 7 Februarjul / February 18 1780greg in Moscow, .. . † 4 Dezemberjul / December 16 1847greg in Poddubje at Tver ) was a Russian painter which is known for its rural life and ordinary people devoted to painting.

Life

Alexei Wenezianow was born in a merchant family in Moscow. In the 1800s he began his career in government service and moved to St. Petersburg, where he studied art. At first he practiced in the redraw of the pictures from the Hermitage and with portraits of his friends. Later, he met Vladimir Borowikowski know and lived in his house as his assistant. Wenezianow tried to work as a self- portrait painter, but had a few orders. In 1811 he was awarded the academic title from the Committee of the Academy of Arts. Triggered by two of his works - a self-portrait and a portrait of K. Golowatschewski with his students.

1819 Wenezianow left government service and devoted himself solely to painting. He bought the village Safonkowo and moved there. During this time he painted the nature that surrounded him. The works that ensued, represented the culmination of his artistic works dar. He painted portraits of peasants and scenes of rural life. Wenezianow was the first who represented the rural life in Russian art. His works were shown with great success in an exhibition in 1824, for which he was praised by the critics.

Wenezianow wanted to become a professor at the Academy of Arts, but the members of the Academy refused to do so mainly because of his lack of academic exercise. From the late 1810s Wenezianow, simple people with poor background and even serfs as Grigori began to use Soroka and teach painting. The mid- 1820s he had a group of apprentices and opened his own painting school. Tsar Nicholas I, who had a penchant for " national styles " had sympathy for the artist and appointed him court painter. This title was Wenezianow the financial support that was needed to operate the school in which the instruction was free.

Wenezianow died in 1847 in an accident, as the horses loslösten and his carriage plunged down a steep slope.
