Alexi Laiho

Alexi " Wildchild " Laiho (actually Markku Uula Aleksi Laiho, born April 8, 1979 in Espoo, Finland) is a Finnish musician. He is a guitarist, singer and main songwriter of the band Children of Bodom, guitarist and main songwriter for Sinergy and guitarist for Kylähullut.

Life

Alexi Laiho played as a child for five years violin, then piano. By his own admission he had always changed the instrument before he really dominated. He learned through his sister Heavy Metal and the band WASP know whose song " Wild Child ", according to him, his wild nature described why he chose this title as a nickname.

At age eleven, he began to play the electric guitar. His playing is heavily influenced by his idols, Randy Rhoads, Zakk Wylde, and above all others, Yngwie Malmsteen. Laiho left school at the age of 16 to focus on his band and play the guitar.

In 1993, Alexi Laiho founded with his friend Jaska Raatikainen W. the Death Metal band Inearthed with they recorded three demos. Shortly thereafter, Laiho went into the Finnish metal band Thy Serpent, but focused still on Inearthed why he attended the Thy Serpent samples rather sporadic. Because Inearthed had signed a record deal, but they shortly afterwards a more lucrative contract was promised, they broke up and formed with the same cast Children of Bodom in order to change the label can.

After the recordings for the first Children of Bodom album Something Wild Laiho Thy Serpent left again. At a concert in Moscow, he decided to participate as lead guitarist of Impaled Nazarene. As Children of Bodom but took precedence, he could not attend all the concerts of Impaled Nazarene. For the 2000 album Nihil, he wrote the music for the songs " Cogito Ergo Sum " and " Zero Tolerance " ( for the latter were Impaled Nazarene due to the extremely homophobic text heavily criticized ).

Alexi Laiho also went into the band Sinergy, with their singer Kimberly Goss, he was married from 2002 to 2004. In 1998, she recorded their debut album Beware The Heavens. In 2001, he rose due to time off at Impaled Nazarene.

In 2004 he founded the Finnish punk rock band Kylähullut.
