Alexis Bledel

Kimberly Alexis Bledel ( born September 16, 1981 in Houston, Texas) is an American actress and fashion model. She was best known for the role of Rory Gilmore in the television series Gilmore Girls.

Biography

Bledel, who has a younger brother who spent her childhood in Houston, Texas. Her father comes Martín from Argentina and her mother Nanette from Mexico. Therefore, they first grew up with Spanish as their first language. Only at school she learned English. Even today, the family maintains with each other in Spanish.

Bledel was very shy in her childhood, so her parents sent her to eight years to a theater group, in the hope of thereby strengthening their self-confidence. Soon they had their first appearances in The Wizard of Oz and Aladdin.

At the age of 14 years Bledel began modeling for a few years, after she was discovered in a local mall. From 1996 to 1999 she attended the private high school of St. Agnes Academy in Houston and began in 2000 studied acting at New York University. Soon after, she participated in the casting for the Gilmore Girls series, and despite the lack of television experience got the role because the crew was enthusiastic about their naturalness and style. So they broke after one year from her studies and moved from New York to Los Angeles.

After her breakthrough as Rory Gilmore played parallel to Gilmore Girls with in several movies. In October 2002, she was with for all of eternity her movie debut. She also starred in the 2003 music video for She's Gonna Break Soon by the originating from Gainesville ska band Less Than Jake. In 2004, she was rather seen in the Bollywood film Love Indian in a supporting role. In 2005 she then starred in Sin City and took a starring role in the film A 4, 2008, she was one for four in the sequel - the Traveling Pants to see. For the short film Life is Short, where she has appeared in 2006, Bledel appeared as a producer in appearance.

In May 2009, Bledel started to model again and signed a modeling contract with the agency IMG.

Bledel was romantically involved approximately December 2002 to May 2006 with her fellow actor Milo Ventimiglia. She is engaged to Vincent Kartheiser.
