Alexis Nicolas

Alexis Peter Nicolas ( born February 13, 1983 in Westminster ) is a former English - Cypriot football player. The midfielder graduated in 2004 three matches for the English first division club FC Chelsea, but ended in favor of a career his professional career at a young age.

Career

Nicolas played at youth level for Aston Villa, where he received in April 2001, his first professional contract. Without having a competitive match for the first team denied he changed already in December 2001 free transfer to the capital club Chelsea. During the pre-season in the summer of 2003 in Malaysia he came under coach Claudio Ranieri surprisingly used and finally debuted on 24 January 2004 in a 1-0 win against FC Scarborough in the FA Cup. Two weeks later, he came first in the league to use when he made together with Frank Lampard and Jesper Grønkjær in a 1-0 home win against Charlton Athletic midfield. Nicolas came on the final day of the season to a further short stint, but then played no role in the plans of new coach José Mourinho more and was already before the start of the 2004/ 05 awarded to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Football League Championship.

In Brighton Nicolas under coach Mark McGhee showed early in the season convincing performance and the club undertook the two combative midfielder in October 2004 on a permanent basis. His performances this season also earned him assignments in the U-21 national team of Cyprus. The following season, he was a substitute for long stretches and was also hampered by a knee injury. At the end of the season his contract was not renewed and Nicolas joined in September 2006, the fifth-tier St Albans City of, in which he contracted on a weekly basis tied to quickly and easily adopt, where appropriate, an offer from the Football League. In November 2006 he left St Albans to six league operations with the prospect of a return to professional football, but there was no obligation, and Nicolas finished a little later his professional career. He has since worked for a real estate investment company.
