Aleyrac

Aleyrac is a commune with 51 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Drôme in the Rhône -Alpes.

Geography

Aleyrac located on an average altitude of 461 meters above sea level on the southern edge of the Drôme Provençale, 16 km southeast of Montelimar, surrounded by the neighboring communities Portes -en- Valdaine, Salles- sous -Bois and Sous Pierre. The municipality has an area of 6.65 square kilometers.

History

The priory of Notre-Dame was first documented in 1105. 1160 was in the convent a meeting of several abbots of the region under the direction of the bishop of the place.
