Alfeld, Bavaria

Alfeld is a municipality with 1094 inhabitants in the Middle Franconian Nuremberg County and a member of the administrative community Happurg.

History

Alfeld belonged since the beginning of the 16th century to the territory of the city of Nuremberg. With the Act of Confederation in 1806 the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the town of Alfeld. As of 1504, the current flowing through the middle of the village stream formed the boundary between the Upper Palatinate and the Nuremberg area. 1806 the site was re-united and part of the Upper Palatinate district Sulzbach. In 1911 he was re- assigned to the Franconian district Hersbruck at his own request. In the municipal reform on 1 April 1971 the then independent municipality Pollanden was incorporated. On January 1, 1972, added a part of Heldmannsberg. Alfeld is the second smallest village of the district. The population is nearly stagnant. On the territory of the municipality and in the year 1970 1115 2008 1138 inhabitants were counted.

Local Politics

Since 1 May 2002, Karl -Heinz Niebler first of the CSU Mayor of Alfeld. The council has been working for the local elections in 2008 from four representatives of the CSU, six of the Free Voters and two of the WBA ( Wählergemeinschaft Civic Forum Alfeld ) together:

Attractions

The dominant center of the village is the already consecrated in 1072 Evangelical Church of St. Bartholomew. By 1450 its Romanesque choir was also a Gothic purposed, 1707/ 08, the nave was vaulted with a ton of wood and built the galleries. This created a very atmospheric space: On the high Empor nave of the former low choir, which widens to the Gothic east choir torartig follows. In the Lower Brook Street is a privately inhabited, built by the factory owner George Castle Schmit 1896 Neo-Renaissance villa. For the property in 2004 by the Hypo Cultural Foundation an approval was granted.

Near Nonnhof, which formerly belonged to the Upper Palatinate Gebert Mayrhofen and in 1975 came to Alfeld, the natural monument Alfelder wind hole is ( in the cave cadastre as E 11 listings); with 2.2 km long, the second longest known cave in the dolomite Frankenalb. The cave is only passable by cave competent visitors in the period from April to October. To the north of Alfeld is the nature reserve Rinntal at Alfeld.

  • An elementary school with three teachers and two classes. The first and second and the third and fourth grade are taught in a combined form.

Clubs and Leisure

The oldest Alfelder club is the choral society founded in 1852 Alfeld 1852. 1863 Alfelder musicians were founded, in 1882 the warrior camaraderie Alfeld and environment, 1903, the men's choir ' Liederkranz " Alfeld.
