Alfred Arndt

Alfred Arndt (* November 26, 1896 in Elbing (West Prussia), † 1976 in Darmstadt ) was a German architect; he worked from 1929 to September 1932 as master at the Bauhaus in Dessau.

Arndt studied from 1921 to 1926 at the Bauhaus in Weimar. He led from 1929 to 1931, the interior design department ( wall painting, metal and furniture workshop ) of the Bauhaus moved to Dessau and then taught to September 1932 in development design, design drawing and perspective.

With the House of the People in Probstzella and the associated Hotel Park Arndt realized the largest Bauhaus ensemble of Thuringia.

He married 1927 Gertrude Arndt ( 1903-2000 ), with whom he moved to Darmstadt in 1938.
