Alfred Blumstein

Alfred Blumstein ( born 1930 in New York) is an American systems analyst and criminologist. He teaches as a professor of Urban Studies and Operations Research at the private Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

For his contributions to Entwicklungskriminologie Blumstein was awarded the Stockholm Prize in Criminology in 2007. He had explored the incidence and frequency of crime in the course of criminal careers.
