Alfred Dundas Taylor

Alfred Dundas Taylor ( born August 30, 1825 United Kingdom, † 1898) was a British naval commander, architect and author of the Admiralty of the Royal Navy.

As the son of George Ledwell Taylor (1788-1873) he worked mainly as commander of the Indian Navy and became known that he had already expressed in 1860 the plan, a shipping channel in the Strait between the Indian subcontinent and the island of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) to build. The " Sethusamudram " called channel project was only now (2005) his first " sod ". Taylor's most famous and last published book is The India directory for the captain's leadership of the steamers and sailing ships, London 1874 ( English). Alfred Taylor died in 1898 in England.
