Alfred Gürtler

Alfred Gürtler ( born October 30, 1875 in German - fork, Bohemia, † March 15, 1933 in Graz) was an Austrian statistician, economist and politician ( CS).

Life

Alfred Gürtler was the eldest of six children of the factory owner Wilhelm Gürtler (1847-1912) and the professor's daughter Maria Schwab ( 1848-1925 ). He attended high school in Leitmeritz and Bohemian Leipa, where in 1895 he made his Matura.

Subsequently, he studied at the universities of Prague, Czernowitz and Graz. There he joined in 1902 as Dr. jur. from. From 1903 to 1905 he was a research associate at the Statistical Office of Styria in Graz next 1904-1909 private assistant of Ernst Mischler ( 1857-1912 ). During his studies, he became in 1894 a member of the fraternity Carolina Prague.

From 1907 he was a lecturer and from 1911 an unpaid associate professor of statistics and the Austrian financial law. From 1919 he was a full professor of law and political sciences.

He was a member of the Austrian delegation at the peace negotiations of St. Germain. From 1919 to 1920 Alfred Gürtler was a member of the Constituent National Assembly and to 1930 Member of Parliament for the Christian Social Party.

1921/1922 he was in the federal governments Schober Schober I and II Austrian Finance Minister and 1926/1927 State of Styria. From 1928 to 1930 he was President of the National Christian Socialist.

Alfred Gürtler 1912 married Irene Miglitz ( 1892-1983 ), the daughter of a medical council and owner of the sanatorium in Lassnitzhoehe. The marriage produced three daughters went Liselotte, married Tritthart (* 1913), Anne Marie ( born 1915 ) and Magdalene ( b. 1921 ) produced.
