Alfred-Kerr-Preis

The Alfred Kerr Prize for Literary Criticism in 1977 donated by the trade journal for the German Book Trade.

The price is reminiscent of the theater and literary critic and publicist Alfred Kerr (1867-1948) and is endowed with 5,000 euros. It is awarded annually by the trade journal for the German Book Trade, since 1996 each to an individual for their literary critical work. Since 2004, the award takes place during the Leipzig Book Fair.

The jury consists of Maria Gazzetti, Head of the Literature House Frankfurt, author Peter Härtling, the bookseller Michael Lemling, president of the German Academy for Language and Poetry Klaus Reichert, the publisher Klaus Schöffling and the respective editor in chief of the Stock Exchange Journal.
