Alfred Kuchevski

Alfred Iosifovich Kutschewski (Russian Альфред Иосифович Кучевский; born May 17, 1931 in Moscow, Russian SFSR, † 15 May 2000, Moscow, Russia) was a Russian ice hockey player. He was buried in the cemetery Trojekurowo.

Career

During his career, the defender played for Krylia Sovetov Moscow. In 1951 he won with Krylia Sovetov the Soviet Cup competition and in 1957 the Soviet Championship. In addition, he was with his team in 1955, 1956 and 1958 runner-up of the USSR. Overall, he scored 37 goals in 240 games in the Soviet league. After his career end Kutschewski remained until 1972 as coach at Krylia Sovetov - first as coach of the men, later as a youth coach. He then worked as a hockey referee, sports journalist and at the state sports lottery.

Internationally

In 1954 he was appointed to the team of the Soviet national ice hockey team. On 29 January 1954 he was in a game against Finland for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with the gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games in 1956, after he had won in 1954 the gold medal at the World Championships. For the national team, he scored seven goals in 51 internationals. On February 28, 1960 he played his last international match. In 1954 he was awarded the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, 1957 with the Medal for brave work.
