Alfred Proksch (politician)

Alfred Proksch ( born March 8, 1891 in Larischau, District Jägerndorf, Austrian Silesia, † January 3, 1981 in Vienna ) was an Austrian Nazi and Gau- country as well as leader of the NSDAP in Austria.

Life

From 1897 to 1901 he attended the elementary school in Larischau, then until 1908, the state secondary school in the village hunter, from which he graduated with the Abitur. After that followed a year of training at the Railroad Academy in Linz. In 1912, he was then the official k.u.k. - State Railways. Following participation in the First World War as a reserve officer in the railway service. He then became a member of DNSAP, married in 1919 and then later had two sons.

In the following years he devoted himself to the construction of the DNSAP throughout Upper Austria, which later renamed itself and then aufteilte into two groups ( NSDAP Hitler movement or motion Schulz ). Proksch stayed with the Hitler movement and was appointed on August 29, 1926 Gauleiter of the Gau of Upper Austria. 1927 or 1928, he was appointed Deputy Managing country and leader of the NSDAP in Austria. This ended his Gauleitertätigkeit, and Andreas Bolek was his successor (probably in May 1927). In July 1931 he was designated by Hitler as head of state, which he remained until the operating ban in 1933. After the de facto party ban in June 1933, he fled to the German Reich and consequently lost his Austrian citizenship as well as its status as an official of the Austrian Federal Railways.

After 1934, he retained the right to use the title Gauleiter. A year later, he received the German citizenship and in 1936 he was appointed to the Reich Labour and Economic Council and was also a member of the Reichstag.

In 1938 he was SA group leader. At the same time the call came as a " kingdom of Trustees of the work for the economic territory of Austria ", which was then called Ostmark. In 1939 he held the same title for the Sudetenland region.

1945 Proksch was arrested by the American forces, then sentenced to forfeiture of assets and four years of hard time, he was serving in Soviet captivity. At the same time he was deprived of his pension.

After his release, he worked as an assistant and then as an office assistant.
