Alfred Raoul

Alfred Raoul ( born December 4, 1938 in Pointe- Noire, then French Equatorial Africa; † 16 July 1999) in 1968 was briefly head of state from 1968 to 1969 and Prime Minister of the Republic of Congo.

Political career

Raoul was originally from Cabinda, an exclave of Angola at that time belonging to Portugal. In the Republic of Congo, which became independent from France on August 15, 1960, he was from 1963 a captain in the army.

Shortly before the coup that ended the tenure of 1963 itself was entered into under a coup to power President Alphonse Massemba - Débat on September 4, 1968 he was on August 22, 1968 Prime Minister of the transitional government.
