Alfred Swift

Alfred James " Jimmy" Swift ( born June 25, 1931 in Durban, † April 13, 2009 in Johannesburg) was a South African cyclist.

At the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki Jimmy Swift was launched in three disciplines, in individual road race in the team time trial and the team pursuit. With the South African web - four ( Tommy Shardelow, Robert Fowler, George Estman ) he won silver. Four years later, at the Games in Melbourne, he drove four competitions and he won bronze in the 1000 -meter time trial. In the team pursuit, the South African team (Robert Fowler, Abe Jonker Jan Hettema ) came in at number four.

1954 and 1958 launched Swift also at the Commonwealth Games. 1954 in Vancouver, he won the gold medal in the time trial, coinciding with the Australian Dick Ploog, who also received a gold medal.
