Algajola

Algajola is located on the northwest coast of the island between Calvi and L' Ile -Rousse a commune and a Corsican seaside resort with 292 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

The municipality belongs to the canton Belgodère and is part of the Arrondissement of Calvi.

Tourism is crucial for Algajola: While the population in winter is one of only about 200 inhabitants who populate the summer thousands of the place and the environment. Hotels and campsites in close proximity to the Mediterranean attract many guests. In addition to bathers and walkers Algajola use as a starting point in the nearby Corsican highlands and villages of the hinterland.
