Algol W

The Algol W programming language was proposed in 1966 by Niklaus Wirth as a successor to Algol 60. Unlike Algol 68 it was a relatively conservative development of Algol 60 Added were predefined data types for strings, bit strings, and complex numbers, and composite data types, including pointers. The further development of the ideas of Algol W led to Pascal.
