Algueirão -Mem Martins is a small town ( Vila ) in Portugal. It is a northeastern suburb of Lisbon and has the status of a municipality ( Freguesia ) inside the circle ( Municipio ) of Sintra in the District of Lisbon. Algueirão -Mem Martins has 66 358 inhabitants (Update June 30, 2011; Census 2001: 63 373 ) and thus belongs alongside Amadora, Setúbal, Queluz and Agualva -Cacém of the largest cities in the suburban belt of Lisbon. The community area is 16 km ². The municipality was formed on January 5, 1962; on 1 February 1988, she received the city rights. The city is located in the districts of Algueirão, Mem Martins, Mercês and Tapada divided the Mercês.

Algueirão -Mem Martins is on the railway line Lisbon Sintra. The city is home of the company founded in 1937 Mem Martins Sport Clube. An attractions especially the Catholic Church is mentioned. Among the most important educational institutions in the city include the Colégio Afonso V.
