Alhadas is a comune ( freguesia ) in Portugal and belongs to the circle ( concelho ) of Figueira da Foz.

History

The tracks found here of human occupation lead back to the Neolithic period. The present town has a number of Moorish legacies, but only in the 12th century it is clearly documented for the first time as Vila de Alhadas. 1514 he received city rights ( " Foral " ) by King Manuel I, and formed an independent district. Later Alhadas belonged to the circle of Maiorca, with its dissolution and annexation to the circle of Figueira da Foz also Alhadas 1853 came to the circle Figueira. In 1989 the place to Vila ( town ) has been charged.

Culture, Sports and Attractions

Traffic

Alhadas was da Figueira da Foz connected to 2009 with the breakpoint Alhadas - Brenha of Ramal on the railway network, since the distance from the CP is suspended until further notice.
