Ali Hamroyev

Ali Ergaschewitsch Chamrajew (Russian Али Эргашевич Хамраев; Uzbek Ali Ergashevich Hamroyev; born May 19, 1937 in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR ) is an Uzbek director and screenwriter, who celebrated his greatest success during the era of the Soviet Union. He turned so far over 30 documentaries and 20 feature films.

Life and career

Ali Chamrajew was born in 1937 in Tashkent, the son of a Tajik and a Ukrainian. Both parents worked in the film industry, his father died in 1942 during World War II. Ali Chamrajew visited the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, where he graduated in 1961. In the same year, his first film was released, Malenkije istorii o detjach, kotoryje. In 1964 Chamrajew with the comedy Where are you, my Sulfija? with Bachtijor Ichtijarow in the lead role, a first great success. More movies Chamrajews were about the Soviet Western Red Sand ( 1968), Crime Scene Tashkent ( 1969) and The seventh sphere ( 1972), all of which were also broadcast in the GDR. In 1979 he succeeded with The Bodyguard, with Alexander Kaidanowski in the lead role, another success. In Hot Summer in Kabul ( 1983), he dealt with the war in Afghanistan the Soviet Union. His last film in the Soviet Union was published in 1987 Sad schelanij. Then he went for filming of Tamerlane the Great to Italy and eventually settled down there as well, but soon leveled between Uzbekistan, Moscow and Italy back and forth. In 1998, he led in Bo Ba Bu first time director, the film was awarded at the International Film Festival Shanghai for the best film music. Radiated in the 2004 Russian detective series Mesto pod solnzem took Chamrajew also again the post of director. He now lives in Moscow.

Chamrajew was friends with Ergasch Karimov and Tolomusch Okejew.
