Ali Kayalı

Kayalı Ali ( born January 29, 1965 in Bulgaria ) is a former Turkish wrestler.

Life

Kayali belonged to the Turkish minority in Bulgaria and learned there also wrestling. However, due to the strong competition in Bulgaria he were no inserts in international championships. In 1990 he moved to Turkey and therefore became a member of the sports clubs Etibank SAS Under coach Musa Ali Tunalı he was inducted into the Turkish national team freestyle wrestler.

In 1991, he earned his first star at an international championship. At the European Championships in Stuttgart, he surprised while the wrestlers professional world by winning the European Champion title in the heavyweight division. However, his brief point victory in the final over to the Russians Andrei Golovko was controversial. At the World Championships the same year in Varna, he could not convince, left early and ended up a disappointing 14th place.

In 1992, he finished first at the European Championships in Kaposvar 3rd place in the heavyweight division and at the Olympic Games in Barcelona him winning the bronze medal came with a victory over the Koreans Kim Tae -Woo. Also in 1993, he won two medals. At the European Championships in Istanbul, he took third place and at the World Championships in Toronto, he was subject only Leri Chabelow from Russia and became vice world champion. Another medal won Kayali at the European Championships in Rome in 1994. In the heavy- weight he lost in his pool against Heiko Balz from Luckenwalde with 2:5 points, but won the battle for the 3rd place on the Ukrainian Alexei Netchipurenko.

However, he injured himself after these championships and had to pause. In 1996 he tried again at the European Championships in Budapest, had to be there but be content with 10th place. Also for the Olympic Games this year in Atlanta, he could not qualify.
