Ali Shaheed Muhammad

Ali Shaheed Muhammad ( born August 11, 1970 in Brooklyn, New York City ) is an American DJ and producer from among the Native Tongues.

Biography

At eight, he began to parties with mixers and turntables to experiment. In 1987 he founded together with Q -Tip and Phife Dawg, the alternative hip- hop group A Tribe Called Quest. Moreover, he was one of the producers collective founded in 1996 called The Ummah.

After the A Tribe Called Quest 1998 broke up due to personal reasons, he cried with Raphael Saadiq and Dawn Robinson, a former vocal member of the musical group En Vogue, the R & B project Lucy Pearl to life, which turned out to be successful. In the same year he had a guest appearance on the Chris Rock Show. On 12 October 2004 he did his band members equal and released a solo album called Shaheedullah and Stereotypes. He also appeared in 2007 as " Music Supervisor " for the drama Stomp the Yard forth.
