Ali Yachkaschi

Ali Yachkaschi (Persian: علی یخکشی English: Ali Yakhkeshi; * 1939 in Behshahr, Iran) is an Iranian professor of environmental sciences, environmental activist and author. After high school he left Iran to study at the Georg -August- University of Göttingen in Germany. Finally, he often holds a Bachelor Science, a Master of Science as well as a doctorate degree in natural resource management / environmental policy at that university.

In Iran, he is due to his outstanding efforts and achievements, to draw the attention of the country on environmental protection - including his in 1974 co-founded the independent research field of environmental sciences at the University of Tehran - as the "Father of Environmental Sciences in Iran " absolutely known.

Life

Yachkaschi Ali was born in the village Yachkasch, a mountain village located in the wooded areas in the south of Behshahr, Mazandaran province, northern Iran. He successfully completed his primary and secondary school as well as the High School in Behshahr, before he went to Germany to continue his education at the Georg- August University in Göttingen. Until his return to Iran in 1967, he contributed to the co-founding of the independent research field of environmental science and that faculty at the University of Tehran.

His actions and work has been rewarded with numerous awards and his achievements in his education and research in environmental sciences have been repeatedly recognized.

Yachkaschi received numerous awards, including in 2000 as a regular professor at the University of Mazandaran (2001), the National Environmental Award (2002) and the golden statue of the Iranian Association of Environmental researchers / scientists in 2004.
