Alia Atkinson

Alia Shanee Atkinson (born 11 December 1988) is a Jamaican swimmer and Olympic participant. Your most successful year so far was 2006, when they secured four gold and one silver medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Cartagena, Columbia. She stood at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and 2008 in Beijing in the squad Jamaica, but could not reach top places there.

At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, and at the Pan American Games in 2007 in Rio de Janeiro was chosen Alia Atkinson at the respective opening ceremonies flag bearer for their homeland. She managed to qualify for the Olympic Summer Games in 2012., Where she reached the finals in the 100 meters breast and is therefore the first Jamaican who moved into an Olympic swimming final. The race she finished in fourth place.
