Alibi is a film of the American director Roland West from the year 1929. The crime melodrama is based on the play " Night Stick" by Elaine S. Carrington, JC Nugent and John Griffith Wray. In the U.S., it had its premiere on 20 April 1929.
Action
Chick Williams is released from prison and immediately his former port closes again. As in a robbery, a police officer is killed, he falls under suspicion. The gangsters had Joan, the daughter of a policeman took him into the theater, the rest committed during the crime and eventually uses them to have an alibi. During the investigation the police will stop at any means and even removed an undercover agent in the transition, in order to solve the crime.
Background
The film was made at the beginning of the sound film era; therefore turned to other scenes for the film, which were used for a silent film version, which was released at the same time.
In the singing scenes is heard instead of Irma Harrison's voice that of Virginia Flohri.
