Alice Adams (writer)
Alice Adams ( born August 14, 1926 in Fredericksburg, Virginia; † 27 May 1999) was an American author and university professor.
Life
Alice Adams grew up as a child of a failed writer. She and her mother were at odds. Adams thought that if she would be a writer, then she and her mother would understand again. So she took part in a writing course of their school. Her teacher told her to give up writing and prefer to marry.
After the marriage, however, broke up, she worked as a secretary. Your psychologist advised her also to give up writing. Instead, she published her first novel in 1966, " Careless Love " and a few years later, her first short story was published in the renowned magazine The New Yorker.
