Alicia Sacramone

Alicia Marie Sacramone ( born December 3, 1987 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American gymnast. She is a member of the U.S. national team and also participated in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, where she won a silver medal.

Life

Sacramone was born on 3 December 1987. Her parents are Fred and Gail Sacramone. She is of Italian descent and has an older brother.

She began gymnastics at age eight. In 2003, she was appointed to the American team. In 2005, she was the decisive member of the U.S. team that won two World Cup titles and seven World Championship medals. In 2008 she won at the Olympic Games in Beijing with the team silver and was fourth on vault. In 2010 she launched a comeback and won two more medals at the 2010 World Championships in Rotterdam. Underneath a golden on the vaulting table. So she won the same number of medals as Shannon Miller and Nastia Liukin. Sacramone began studying in 2006 at Brown University in Providence.
