Alif Dhaal Atoll

Ari Atholhu Dhekunuburi ( South Ari Atoll, Dhivehi: އ ަ ރ ި އ ަ ތ ޮ ޅ ު ދ ެ ކ ު ނ ު ބ ު ރ ި ), with the Thaana abbreviation އ ދ (Alif Dhaal or Alifu Dhaalu ), is an administrative atoll ( district ) in the west of the Maldives. It includes the southern part of Ari Atoll and belongs to the province medhu - Uthuru. The population is just under 8400 (2006 ).

The administrative area was created in 1998 during the reign of President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom by dividing the Ari Atoll (Alif ) in a north - (Alif Alif ) and a southern (Alif Dhaal ) - officially for administrative reasons, as the Ari Atoll is very large, according to the opposition, however, as either tactical maneuver.

10 islands are inhabited, besides the administrative capital Mahibadhoo (1780 inhabitants) are the Dhangethi, Dhiddhoo, Dhigurah, Fenfushi, Haggnaameedhoo, Kunburudhoo, Maamingili, Mandhoo and Omadhoo. Overall, the district includes 49 islands.
