Alihan Samedov

Əlixan Səmədov (or Alihan Samedov; born 1964 in Sumqayıt, Azerbaijan ) is an Azerbaijani masters of the original game, the instruments of Azerbaijani folk instruments ( Balaban, clarinet, Tutek, zurna, saxophone).

Life

Əlixan Səmədov comes from a musical family and made his first secondary education between the years 1971 to 1979. Later he made his musical education in the Azerbaijani music schools " Samet Vurgun " and " Nəriman Nərimanov " where he had his studies completed from 1979 to 1982. From 1986 to 1990 he taught music at the pedagogical university of Azerbaijan. In 1992, he moved to Turkey, and lived there until today. He has participated in many international festivals and gave many international concerts in France, Singapore, Poland and Spain. Əlixan Səmədov Award Azerbaijan for his latest album "Land Of Fire music of Azerbaijan " in summer 2001.

He is the music director at the " Kadikoy Folklore Education Centre ". Əlixan Səmədov is known in particular in countries where Balaban is played (in some countries known as the duduk ) as traditionally Turkish- Azerbaijani instrument, for example, but Syria, Georgia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and in Europe and the USA. Two of his biggest Azerbaijani folk songs are " Sari Gelin " ( German Blonde Bride ) and " Sen Gelmez Oldun " ( German You did not come ).

He is also a chess master and chess teaches at the " Erenkoy school".
