Alim Selimau

Alim Maximowitsch Selimow (White Russian Алім Максімавіч Селімаў / Alim Maksimawitsch Selimau; Russian Алим Максимович Селимов; Lezgian Селимрин Максиман хва Алим / Selimrin Maksiman chwa Alim; born January 26, 1983 in Kassumkent, Dagestan ASSR, Russian SFSR, USSR) is a Belarusian wrestler lesgischer origin. Career

Alim Selimow went into Kassumkent, where his mother works as a teacher, to school. His father died early, and he was raised by his older brother, who also brought him in 1991 to wrestle. On the advice of an older friend, he went to Mazyr in Belarus, where the uncle of his friend Malik Eskenderow, a native of Dagestan, worked at the Children's and Youth Sports School as a wrestler coach for the Greco-Roman style in 1998. On a visit to his native Dagestan after his World Champion title in 2005 Selimow said that it was " the great merit of his coach Malik Eskenderow that he became world champion ." Selimow was first freestyle wrestler, but after an injury, he joined the Greco- Roman style.

In the Wrestling World Championships 2005 in Budapest Selimow had been able to win all of his fights, including the duels against Kim Jung -sub from South Korea, Sándor Bárdosi from Hungary and in the final against Alexei Mishin from Russia.

Alim Selimow is 1.75 meters tall and trained in the Trade Union Sports Club Homel. He is married and has one daughter.
