Alin Minteuan

Alin Ilie Minteuan ( born November 12, 1976 in Cluj- Napoca, Cluj County ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach.

Career as a player

Minteuan began his career at CFR Cluj in Divizia B. In 1997 he moved to local rivals Universitatea Cluj in the Divizia A, then after a strong season to Rapid Bucharest. Since he did not prevail there, could he was transferred in January 1999 to Gloria Bistrita. In January 2001, he joined the Israeli Ligat ha'Alzu Hapoel Haifa and after a year in January 2002 back to Romania to Gloria Bistrita. In 2004 he moved to Hapoel Beersheba and 2005 back to CFR Cluj. In December 2008, he ended his career and announced plans to work as an assistant coach at Cluj.

Career as a coach

In January 2009, he began his coaching career at CFR Cluj as an assistant coach and took over on 25 November 2010 the office of the head coach. After CFR had completed the 2010/11 season in eleventh place, he had to give way to the Portuguese Jorge Costa. He took over the second team of the club in the League III. In October 2012, he became head coach of Unirea Dej League rival. Since June 2013 he is again co- coach of CFR Cluj.
