Alincourt

Alincourt is a commune of 147 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Ardennes department in the Champagne- Ardenne region.

Geography

Due to the arrondissement of Rethel in Canton June Ville south of Rethel lying place leads the department road D925. Southwest of the village lie the forests of La Coulisse and Le Pré. South of the local situation of the river runs Retournement.

In the village is the church of Saint- Hilaire and the Alincourt castle. The population of the parish rose from 56 residents in 1962 to 91 in 1990. After the number was 1999, fell back to 78, it rose to 2007 on 114 people.

Personalities

The French politicians Hilaire Flanders (1937-2004) was born in Alincourt and was at times also mayor of the municipality.

René Bérenger (1830-1915), French lawyer and politician, died in 1915 at the site.
