Aliquot

The aliquots ( from Latin aliquot ' some, a few " ) are musical instruments in the auxiliary string and tune:

  • Sympathetic strings are on a stringed instrument, such as the baritone, additional accompanying strings, which are usually located below the actual playing strings and are not excited directly by the player, but are caused by the playing strings on resonance to vibrate.
  • Aliquotstimmen (also Aliquotregister, Obertonregister or auxiliary parts) are organ stops that are not on the ailing sound or an octave, but on one of his other harmonics ( fifth, third, seventh, etc.) sound.
