Alissa Czisny
Alissa Czisny ( born June 25, 1987 in Sylvania, Ohio ) is an American figure skater who starts in a single run.
Career
Alissa Czisny began at the age of one and a half years with the figure skating, when her mother took hours of training. Her twin sister Amber also went after this sport at the professional level. Czisny competes for the Detroit Skating Club (Detroit SC) and was trained by Julianne Berlin since the age of eleven. From childhood, she also received ballet lessons.
International attention to themselves for the first time made Czisny in 2005, when she was able to win the ladies competition at the Skate Canada competition. In the following two seasons 2006/ 07 and 2007/ 08 they could only partly build on this success. At the U.S. Championships in 2007, she won her first medal with bronze behind Kimmie Meissner and Emily Hughes, while they occupied only a 15th place at the World Championships. Even after her victory at the U.S. Championships in Cleveland in 2009 and the success at the Nebelhorn Trophy (2008 and 2009) it did not come as an eleventh place out at the world championships in the same season.
According to a tenth place finish at the national championships in 2010, they failed to qualify for the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Then Czisny had intended to end her career, but was swayed by the former U.S. Olympic gold medalist Brian Boitano and Linda Leaver the trainer. The New York Times they should call in January 2011 as a very elegant but inconsistent as painful runner.
In February 2010, Czisny separated from her longtime coach Julianne Berlin and has been training since May of that year at the former Japanese World Champion Yuka Satō and her husband Jason Dungjen. Satō was working on the mental problems of the runner while Dungjen focused on Czisnys technology and their jumping technique revised. Thereupon Czisny developed again to win runner. In 2011 she won in Greensboro for the second time the National Championship and won against the defending champion Rachael Flatt and Mirai Nagasu. With its program to Violin Concerto Erich Wolfgang Korngold ( short program ) and excerpts from George Winston Winter into Spring ( Freestyle) she again won after five years of Skate Canada and the Grand Prix Final before the Italian Carolina Kostner and the Japanese Junior World Champion Kanako Murakami. She presented with 180.75 rating points ( 63.76 for the short program, 116.99 for the Freestyle) a new personal record.
In the following World Championships, which were moved due to a major earthquake in Japan to Moscow, Czisny was after the short program to fourth and lost a place after the free skate. With a ranking of five Czisny reached its best ever placing at a World Cup and improved their personal Wertungskrekord in freestyle ( 120.78 points) and overall ( 182.25 ). The former German figure skater and ZDF Kommentarin Tanja Szewczenko described the US-American as " introverted runner " which I tend for themselves.
Alissa Czisny lives in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Your current training location is Bloomfield Hills, where she spends up to 21 hours per week on the ice. She attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Your degree in International Studies, French and Russian, she completed with a grade of "summa cum laude". The vegetarian is one of the former Olympic and world champion Scott Hamilton to their role models and worked parallel to their sporting career as a trainer and a photo model.
