Aljosha Rompe

Arthur Alexander " Alyosha " Rompe ( born October 20, 1947 in Berlin-Buch, † November 23, 2000 in Berlin- Prenzlauer Berg ) was a German -Swiss punk musician and founder of the 1983 resulting GDR punk band Feeling B. His stepfather Robert Rompe found recovery Hiddensee where Alyosha held legendary beach concerts.

Family and citizenship

Alyosha's mother emigrated shortly before his birth with her father Arthur Baumgarten from Switzerland to Berlin. His biological father was a Swiss actor, but what he learned only by his death. He was adopted by his stepfather Robert Rompe and grew as a functionary privileged child in the GDR. After Ronald Galenza Gregor Gysi was his playmate. The Swiss Pass Alyosha received in 1980, as his mother was by marriage a Swiss citizen. At 14 he was then nevertheless the identity card of the GDR and was run as a so-called dual citizens to the authorities. The freedom to travel Rompe used repeatedly to introduce instruments and equipment from West Berlin into the GDR.

Meeting place for the youth and spying

Rompe lived from 1979 to 1990 in the Fehrbellinerplatz Road 7 in East Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district. His loft was the rehearsal room of Feeling B and point of contact for alternative youth of all kinds From 1990 to 1999 he lived in a sort of commune in the beautiful Allee 5, until after many chicanes left as the last residents of the house. Rompe was monitored from 1972 to 1989 through the Ministry of State Security ( Stasi). The Stasi helped himself doing various means, such as the imposition of pre-trial detention, the use of informer, the post office surveillance and stakeout. As the Stasi was disbanded in 1990, Rompe worked in the Operational Group of AG safety of the Central Round Table with active.

Alyosha Rompe died at age 53 on 23 November 2000 in his mobile home in Berlin to an asthma attack.

Alyosha Rompe documented from 1989 for some years the development of squatter and music scene in Berlin- Prenzlauer Berg. From his unpublished legacy of the film was What does a chameleon when it looks in the mirror (2007, Director: Matthias Aberle ), which is composed of some of his short films and documentaries.

Radio

Rompe operation since 1990 to around 1994 the pirate radio station Radio P who sent alternately from the occupied homes in the beautiful Allee No. 5 and No. 20 and the Kunsthaus Tacheles.
