All India NR Congress

The All India NR Congress ( AINRC ) is a regional party in the Indian union territory of Puducherry. It was in early 2011 by N. Rangasamy, former Chief Minister ( Head of Government ) Puducherrys, founded as a splinter group from the Indian National Congress and immediately won the elections to the Parliament Puducherrys in April 2011.

The Congress politician N. Rangasamy had already been chief minister 2001-2008 Puducherrys but crashed after a cabinet revolt. After Rangasamy had retired for two years from the policy he announced in February 2011 ahead of the parliamentary elections in Pondicherry founding the AINRC and gathered several former Congress politician around. The success of the AINRC based largely on the charisma of its founder, N. Rangasamy, who has already enjoyed great popularity during his first term as Chief Minister. The Abkürznung NR in the party name officially stands for Namathu Rajyam (Tamil for " our territory " ), it is expected that equality with the initials N. Rangasamys be anything but random. Your greatest support enjoyed by the AINRC in the rural parts Puducherrys.

Before the election, the AINRC concluded an electoral alliance with the AIADMK party, while the Congress party allied itself with the DMK. As a result of the election, the AINRC - AIADMK alliance won in 20 of 30 constituencies. Here, the AINRC was in 15 of 17 constituencies in which he competed successfully. Thus, the splinter group finished twenty -year-long period of Congress rule in Pondicherry. After the election, the Chief as the new minister sworn N. Rangasamy decided not to form a coalition government with the AIADMK, but to govern alone, where he is a renegade DMK candidate who now sits as an independent member of Parliament, provide the necessary majority of votes. This decision led to more clearly upset with the AIADMK.
