All Japan Road Race Championship

The All Japan Road Race Championship (English for Zen Nihon Rodo resu senshuken, Japanese全日本 ロード レース 選手権) is the national Japanese motorcycle road championship.

She is considered one of the most important national motorcycle competitions around the world. This is mainly due to the fact that four of the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha, all are from Japan and therefore compete with factory supported teams whose machines where the motorcycle and Superbike World Championship rarely met.

History

The All Japan Road Race Championship is held under the auspices of the Japanese Motorcycle Association Motorcycle Federation of Japan ( MFJ ), which was founded in 1961 since 1967. Practically all internationally successful Japanese motorcycle racer accumulated in the championship their first experience.

Over the years, the graduations of categories in different engine sizes over again and adapted to new developments in motorcycle racing. In 1989 won the American Doug Polen for the first time a foreigner a title in the All Japan Road Race Championship.

Premier class has long been the 500 cc category, which was replaced in 1994 by the Superbike class. In the 2002 season occurred in the Superbike class for testing purposes often also purebred MotoGP prototypes. While this won the most races, but were not evaluated Regulations reasons.
