All My Loving is a published on February 7, 1964 EP by British rock band The Beatles. It was the fourth EP of The Beatles, which was released on Parlophone (catalog number GEP 8891 ). The EP was released only in mono.

Background

The timing of the release of their fourth British EP coincided with the arrival of the Beatles in the U.S., where they landed on February 7, 1964 in New York to complete their first appearances in the United States. With I Want to Hold Your Hand, their fourth UK single, the Beatles and the breakthrough in the U.S. was now succeeded. In Britain, their second album With the Beatles appeared in November 1963, which has since topped the UK album charts. At the time of publication of the EP All My Loving the three previously published Beatles EPs occupied positions 2, 4 and 5 of the EP charts. The best placement of All My Loving was the first place they could hold for eight weeks. Overall, All My Loving 44 weeks held in the EP charts, including 27 weeks in the top - fifth In the singles charts for the EP came up to # 12 in Melody Maker, and to number 13 in the New Musical Express ( NME ).

The cover photo was from Robert Freeman. It was the same photo that was used for the cover of the album With the Beatles, but a bit lighter in pressure.

Title list

In compiling this EP, the record company went back to two songs of the then current album With the Beatles as well as the B-side of the first two Beatles singles. Three pieces were compositions by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, a song on the second side was a cover version. Both B - sides were previously included on the album Please Please Me. For twelve of the fourteen tracks of this album were used for the first four EPs of the Beatles as a whole.

  • First published on 11 January 1963 as the B- side of the second single, Please Please Me, later also appeared as track 6 of page 1 of the album Please Please Me. Sung it was John Lennon.
  • First published as track 7 from page 2 of the album With the Beatles, sung by John Lennon.
  • First published on October 5, 1962 B- side of the single, Love Me Do, later also appeared as track 2 on page 2 of the album Please Please Me, sung by Paul McCartney. In this recording can be heard on the drums while Ringo Starr played the maracas once again the studio musician Andy White.

Reissues

All My Loving EP was pressed up in the 1970s. In December 1981, the EP was released as part of the box set The Beatles EP Collection, containing all British EPs. On 26 May 1992, this set was published as a CD issue.
