All Saints Church (Dresden)

The All Saints Church ( All Saints ) was an Anglican church on the Vienna road, street corner Beust, in Dresden.

She was an example of the Early English period as a special variant of the historicist Neo-Gothic.

History

The church was due to a foundation of the Saxon businessman William Henry Goschen widow ( William Henry Goschen ) in London possible. It was built in the years 1868 to 1869 by August Pieper, together with the London architect James Piers St Aubyn for many living in Dresden Anglicans according to the forms of the " Early English style". The sacred building was a small three-aisled basilica with a low investment transept. A polygonal apse was grown. In the south of the ship was a powerful, square tower with a high, octagonal spire. The tower recalled the Marburg Elisabeth Church. The roof was decorated inside and open with rich sculptural works. In the postwar period in the war, only slightly damaged church was demolished.

In 1927, a contractual agreement between the All Saint's Episcopal church English eV with the Evangelical Lutheran St. Paul's church in change of use. Accordingly, we transferred the St. Paul's congregation to use the church building for a period of 30 years.

After the bombings of 13 and 14 February 1945 the church was destroyed by fire. The ruins were demolished in 1952.
