All Saints (group)
All Saints (English: All Saints ) are a British pop music group, named after the All Saints Road in London's Ladbroke Grove, where the band 's history began in the recording studio Studio 1.
The group is composed entirely of female members: the sisters Nicole and Natalie Appleton, Melanie Blatt and Shaznay Lewis.
Biography
In 1993, the group was founded as All Saints 1.9.7.5 of Melanie Blatt, Shaznay T. Lewis and Simone Rainford. There were several singles, but initially no album released. In 1995, the Appleton sisters were added for Rainford and the group changed its name to All Saints.
The breakthrough came in the fall of 1997 with the success of singles I Know Where It 's At and Never Ever. On the debut album, All Saints also found successful songs such as new interpretations of Lady Marmalade, originally by Patty LaBelle and the Red Hot Chili Peppers classic Under the Bridge.
Beginning of 1999 was published on the basis of the continued success of her first album, The Remix Album. Because Melanie blade pregnancy, the daughter Lilyella Journal Zender brought on 18 November 1998 to the world, the All Saints initially paused for a long time.
In early 2000, the four women came together again and it was followed by her second studio album, Saints and Sinners, which contains among others the hits Black Coffee, All Hooked Up and the soundtrack title Pure Shores from the movie The Beach.
The end of 2001 was followed by the Greatest Hits album All Hits, and shortly after the group split.
Nicole and Natalie came together to form a duo and took her last name Appleton as its name. The result was 2003, three singles Fantasy, and Do not Worry Everything Eventually as well as the album Everything's Eventual between autumn 2002 and mid.
In summer 2004, Shaznay Lewis made her debut as a solo artist with the album Open and two extractions from it. Also Melanie Blatt was in the spring of 2005, as already on the album " All Hits ", with the music for the film " Robots ", to which she contributed the theme song, turn out to be a solo artist.
In spring 2006, the group All Saints celebrated their reunion. The first single from the new album Studio 1 was called rocksteady and was released in late October 2006., You do not even placed in the UK back in the top 10 after the second single Chick Fit reached only ranked # 189 in the download charts, this was officially published.
On 12 September 2008, the All Saints announced at a press conference that they will record a new album. Since, however, failed to find All Saints a new record company, announced Melanie Blatt finally in August 2009 that it was with All Saints gone forever.
In September 2010, another greatest hits album was released, entitled Pure Shores: The Very Best of All Saints.
On May 25, 2013 died founding member Simone Rainford one month after her 38th birthday at the consequences of kidney cancer.
In November 2013 it was announced that All Saints the Backstreet Boys will accompany them in their tour in 2014 for five dates in the UK and Ireland.
