Allan Bester

Allan James Best ( born March 26, 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played from 1983 to 1996 for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League.

Career

Allan Bester began his career as a professional ice hockey goaltender with the Brantford Alexanders of the Ontario Hockey League, for which he was active from 1981 to 1984. During this time he was in the third round than a total of 48 players selected during the NHL Entry Draft in 1983 by the Toronto Maple Leafs, for whom he was eight years in the gate. On March 5, 1991 Best was released to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for their sixth- round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 1991. In the two years in which Best of 1991 stood until 1993 in Detroit under contract, he was mainly for their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Adirondack Red Wings on the ice.

From 1993 to 1995, Best goalkeeper of the San Diego Gulls of the International Hockey League before he was bound by their league rivals, the Orlando Solar Bears. During his first season in Orlando Best was arrested on 21 January 1996 in ten games as a free agent by the Dallas Stars under contract, so he first went aground in the National Hockey League after four years. Then he returned to the Solar Bears, where he ended his career in 1998.
