Allan H. Meltzer

Allan H. Meltzer ( born February 6, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American economist and professor of Political Economy at the members of the Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania..

For the term 2012-2014 Meltzer has served as president of the Mont Pelerin Society.

He is the author of dozens of academic journals and books on monetary policy and the Federal Reserve Bank ( " Fed " ) and is considered one of the world's leading experts on issues of how to develop monetary policy is being applied.

Meltzer's study 'A History of the Federal Reserve ' is considered the most comprehensive history of this central bank -like institution. Volume II, which covers the years from 1951 ( Federal Reserve accord ) to 1969, was published in February 2010.
